Community Clean Up Day!

Thank you to the brave souls who came out in the rain for the Georgetown Community Clean up Day! The Georgetown Conservation Commission worked to clean up the trails in the Ipcar Forest. The Georgetown Central School worked with the Georgetown Working League to clean up the school Memorial Gardens. Thank you to the Seguinland Institute for coming out to help there. It was a wet but productive day for our small but mighty crew!! If anyone has any photos to share of the town clean up efforts, please email them to conserve04548@gmail.com. Thank you!

Town Forest Use Request Form

To ensure that the forests remain a safe, well-maintained, and accessible resource for the community, the town has implemented a new process for all groups and organizations wishing to use the space for larger organized events.

Beginning January 1, 2026 organizations will be asked to follow the updated procedure below:

  1. Submit a Use Request Form at least seven days prior a regular Commission meeting (the 2nd Monday of each month).
  2. Provide a description of the event or activity, including anticipated attendance and any equipment or materials to be brought on-site.
  3. Confirm adherence to forest guidelines, including stewardship expectations, trail use rules, and environmental protections.
  4. Receive approval from the Conservation Commission before advertising or conducting the activity.

This process will help us coordinate forest use more effectively, protect natural resources, and support a positive experience for all visitors.

If you have any questions or would like assistance completing the new request process, please contact us at conserve04548@gmail.com

Sincerely,
The Georgetown Conservation Commission
