How severe is the current drought?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, dry periods are becoming more frequent in Maine, with some parts of the state experiencing unusually dry or drought conditions almost annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrowsic, Georgetown and much of Maine are currently experiencing a Flash Drought<\/strong>, which typically happens during the warm seasons. As shown on the drought map below, about half of the state is classified as having severe drought conditions<\/em><\/strong> – including all of Sagadahoc County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water Tests Delayed in Arrowsic & Georgetown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is with disappointment that the WaterWise Team shares the news that the water sampling effort we planned for this summer has been postponed until next summer. Although everyone did all they could, the blame ultimately lies with continued delay in funding (not yet received) which was out of our hands. We will be in touch with each participant soon with more information soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
